An end of summer faery has arrived and not a moment too soon for me. First the nights were cooler and just now and then the days became less like the inside of a sauna . As far as I am comcerned she can camp in our backyard as long as she likes. Even our old doggie is fone of this one this time. For him now the threat of ticks and rashes which irritate him from all the strange grasses he likes to roll in is a blessing. Also now its a bit cooler he can have less baths He absolutely hates water and shivers when its bathtime again. So this is sure one welcome faery in our household... Posted by Picasa

Lovely daughter faeries

How could I forget my lovely daughter faeries? Boy did they keep me on my toes when ther were a little younger. God knows how a faery godmother is expected to keep track of her young faeries. Every night I'd sprinkle the faery dust of sleep upon their eyelids and off they'd go...sound asleep...so I thought. A faery godmother has to get some sleep sometimes and yet, over and over I'd hear those stupid yakkity yak parrot type faeries wonder how we could not always keep track of the younger faeries in our charge. Forget the faery dust I felt like dropping moist fresh cow pats right on the doorstep of their faery mounds which always looked so prim and tidy.

Young faeries will slip so easily out the windows at night time, especially when there is a full moon, and the bright lights draw them like moths to a flame.

But I think I caught them most of the time, and they survived the times I slept too deeply. No wonder this old faery godmother has a few grey hairs... She has earned them I reckon.
